Celano is out of the influential Holstein lineage 104a. Celano's sire, the fantastic grey Capitol I is sire of numerous international jumpers such as Concorde, Cartier, Calle and Curtis. Also sire of many approved sons such as Carthago Z, Carolus I and II, Cassini and Indoctro. Capitol I died in 1999 at the age of 24. The dam line of Capitol I is one of the best in Holstein. Folia, the dam of Capitol I, has unprecedented jumping ability and is a daughter of the S-jumping very successful stallion Maximus and a daughter of the Ramzes mare Vase. Vase is a full sister to Romanus, a very successful show jumper under H.G. Winkler in the 1960s. In 1993, the stallion Lord died at the age of 26. A stallion who wrote breeding history with offspring like Livius - Lord Incipit - Loyal - Lugana etc. That Celano inherited from these bloodlines ability, technique and balance with a fine temperament speaks for itself.
Performance:
Celano had very much jumping ability, three good basic gaits and a fantastic character. In 1994 Celano, ridden by Rene Tebbel, placed 4th at the Bundeschampionat. In 1995 he was approved by the KWPN and received a very good performance report. Celano, ridden by Rob Ehrens, performed a lot in the sport. In 1998 he finished very high at the Dutch Championships in Hoofddorp and placed 6th at the Grand Prix of Champion Arnhem and 2nd at the Grand Prix of Leeuwarden, among others. In 1999 they had several successes in Beek, Mierlo, Zelhem, Nunspeet and Hengelo, among others. In Amsterdam they won the 1.50 and in 2000 they were Best Stallion in Zwolle, 4th at the CHIO in The Hague and 7th in the Grand Prix of Lummen. In 2001 they successfully defended the title in Zwolle and were again named Best Stallion 2001. After his death in 2008, frozen semen of Celano is still available on request.
Offspring:
In 2006 Celano received the KWPN keur predicate based on his offspring. The offspring of Celano have good movements, a good character and beautiful types. They are easy to ride and have a lot of jumping ability. Meanwhile, his children convince in the sport. Already more than 20 offspring of Celano prove themselves in the international showjumping sport. Time after time they throw high points such as Ocelot with Ramzi Al Duhami fourth in the Grand Prix of Zuidlaren, O'Celine and Ullrich Kirchhoff eighth in the Grand Prix Outdoor Gelderland, Porto Rico prominent in the Italian team at the European Championships in Mannheim and second in the Grand Prix of Arezzo. Also, Willem Greve and his Uceline (Celano x Koriander) won the VION Cup for 6-year-old show jumpers in Ermelo 2007 in addition to numerous other victories, in 2008 they won silver at the World Championships in Lanaken among the 7-year-old show jumpers, in Maastricht they won the 1.40m and in January 2009 they won the 1.40m at Zwolle International. Meanwhile, the mare has been sold to Athina Onassis. At the 2007/2008 VSN Finals, Zidane (Celano x Voltaire), bred by Mr. Th. Rutten of Velp, finished beautifully third. Velano S (Celano x Quattro) won in Italy with Fabio Crotta the six-year-old championships, Uceko (Celano x Koriander) won in America the zivler of the seven-year-old show jumpers with Kent Farrington and Zelano DDH finished fourth in the final of the GMB winter competition during Zwolle International.

Celano died in 2008. Frozen semen is still available.
