KWPN Jumping Commission recognizes two Grand Prix stallions

The jumping stallion selection committee has decided to recognize the successful sport stallions Darry Lou and Lord Sandro DDH for KWPN breeding. This means that the stallions will have the same status as KWPN approved stallions. Offspring of these stallions will therefore be registered directly in the foal book.

Lord Sandro
Lord Sandro DDH is a 15-year-old chestnut son of Lordanos. The dam is Sophie, a daughter of Sandro out of the mare Gelizia, a daughter of Domino. Lord Sandro DDH was bred by Uwe Neitzeil of Zetel, Germany. Bart Bles has been forming a combination with Lord Sandro DDH for a long time. They were successful in 5* competitions at 1.60m level. High rankings were achieved in such competitions as Hickstead, Helsinki, Oslo and Verona. The combination was also drawn up several times in Nations Cup competitions. After the stallion was out of the sport for a while because of an injury, the combination came back very strong this summer by winning the Grand Prix of Arnhem immediately. Lord Sandro DDH meets the x-ray criteria of the radius bone and splash and has a genomic breeding value of 98 with 33% btbh. Lord Sandro DDH's sport breeding value is 130 (54% btbh). His height is 1.68 m. Semen is available from Dekstation De Havikerwaard in de Steeg.
